Salt Shaker and Golden Brown Egg

This is a 6x6" painting on masonite hardboard. I'll start off by saying that the actual painting looks so much better than this photograph, but this was the best pick out of 7 photos. Sold.

Antique Coffee Grinder

"Red Coffee Grinder" is an 6x6" oil painting on masonite hardboard. This is a painting of a collectible antique coffee grinder that was made by Elgin National Company. Usually I sign my paintings at one of the lower corners, but there was too much going on down there, so I signed it at the top. Although red is my favorite color it is harder for me to paint than other colors, because it is difficult to isolate one specific color of red and just add it's complement and just paint with that. If an item is red it seems to require different colors of red for some reason. Also it never seems to photograph just like the original. This photo however gives a fairly accurate likeness of this painting.

Antique Amber Ink Bottle With Pelikan Fountain Pen

This is a 5x7" oil painting on canvas. This is a painting of an antique eight-sided
umbrella ink bottle and an antique Pelikan fountain pen made in Germany. The fountain pen tip is gold. This was fun to paint. Sold.

Antique Pelikan Blue Ink Bottle with Pelikan Fountain Pen

This is a 5x7" oil painting on canvas that I completed last week. This is a painting of an antique blue ink bottle and an antique fountain pen. Both of them are Pelikan and are very collectable items. I enjoy painting darkly colored glass bottles, because when I look at them closely I find many colors that I don't expect to see.

Painting a Day "Unlit Candle" September 7, 2010

Just finished painting "Unlit Candle" last night at 9 p.m. This painting is 6"x6" oil on masonite. It is painted on Masonite using Winsor Newton oil paints. I have really been wanting to paint this small pottery vase I bought from a potter in Brown County Indiana for a long time. Finally figured out how to use it in a painting! I am pleased how it turned out.
